La "Hora Loca" - Spanish for The Crazy Hour - is a tradition that started in Venezuela and has found it's way to Miami and is spreading throughout the rest of the country.
It is a designated hour in the evening when the party goes into Carnaval mode. It is a high-energy part of the evening where the host or bride & groom hand out wigs and noisemakers to get the crowd going. It's a party within a party.
Your DJ can get things started with Brazilian Carnaval style music - songs like:
- "Magalenha" - Sergio Mendes
- "Samba de Janeiro" - Bellini
- "75th Street Brazil" - Nicola Fasano
- "Danza Kuduro" - Don Omar
- "Waka Waka" - Shakira
Depending on your budget you can have stilt walkers, Brazilian dancers, drummers or even a band. Accessories include wigs, sun glasses, masks, bead necklaces, balloons, confetti, boas, inflatable instruments, blinking hats and noisemakers. A shot cart is usually placed in the center of the room for guests to enjoy.
The idea is to have a high energy session added to your celebration and get everyone hyped for the rest of the night.
